We calculate your gas bill based on the number of units you’ve used, along with some standard charges. Here’s a simple breakdown:
Units UsedWe find the number of units used by subtracting your previous meter reading from your current meter reading.
Base AmountEach unit of gas costs AED 9.50. So, your base amount is calculated by multiplying the units used by 9.50.
Service ChargeA fixed service charge of AED 10 is added to every bill.
Convenience FeeA 3% fee is applied to the base amount, plus an additional AED 1.
VAT (Value Added Tax)VAT is charged at 5% on the total of the base amount and the service charge.
Total AmountFinally, we add up the base amount, service charge, convenience fee, and VAT to give you your total bill amount.
Let’s say:
Your previous reading is 1200
Your current reading is 1300
Here’s how your bill will be calculated:
Units Used = 100 units
Base Amount = 100 × AED 9.50 = AED 950
Service Charge = AED 10
Convenience Fee = 3% of 950 (AED 28.50) + AED 1 = AED 29.50
VAT = 5% of (950 + 10) = AED 48
Total Bill = 950 + 10 + 29.50 + 48 = AED 1,037.50
